  • 4-4:30pm: RCE overview

This information session is geared towards students who already have an idea of a research project and a potential faculty mentor in mind. Please feel free to join us for the whole session or just for the part that is most relevant for you! We will record the info session and post the recording to the URAF website shortly after the session has ended.

The Harvard College-Mindich Independent Research and Community Engagement (RCE) award provides funding in support of undergraduates who are conducting an independent summer project that combines community-engaged service with student-initiated scholarly research. The project must involve the guidance of a Harvard-affiliated faculty mentor and be highly substantive: a minimum of around six weeks in duration, full-time in commitment, and exhibiting some autonomy in the development, direction, and execution of the project. The application deadline for Summer 2023 is 11:59pm EST on Sunday, March 1, 2023.

Download the application instructions from our website for more information!

Please feel free to contact Elizabeth Perten (eperten@fas.harvard.edu) with any questions about RCE or the application process.
