Drop-In Advising Hours

URAF hosts drop-in advising hours for Harvard College undergraduates during the semester, excluding University holidays. See current hours here. No need to sign-up or let us know ahead of time!

Drop-in advising sessions are typically 15 minutes long. They're a great way to ask questions about our programs, discuss your interests and plans, and ask questions about applications.

Scheduled Appointments

Can't make drop-in hours? Looking to have a longer conversation about your plans for research or fellowships? We encourage you to set up an appointment to meet with one of our advisers.

You can reach out to one of the advisers listed on this page, or you can reach out to URAF directly by calling 617-495-5095 or by emailing undergradresearch@fas.harvard.edu (for research advising) or fellowships@fas.harvard.edu (for fellowships advising).

Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, during the semester.

Other On-Campus Resources

House Fellowship Advisers (HFAs): Each of Harvard's residential houses has at least one dedicated HFA. These advisers should be the primary contacts for applicants throughout the proposal development and application writing process. If you don't know who your HFA is, please consult your Resident Dean. First-year students are welcome and encouraged to meet with a URAF staff member during walk-in hours or by appointment.

URAF Research Ambassadors: URAF Research Ambassadors are peer advisers available to help students—particularly first-year students, first-generation students, or students from underserved backgrounds—explore the wealth of opportunities and resources available to them!

Concentration Advisors, Instructors, and Mentors: Your own network of concentration advisors, instructors, and mentors is a valuable resource in helping you think the questions animating your research question or fellowship project. If you're looking for research or other opportunities in a particular discipline or area, departmental administrators and faculty may know of relevant opportunities.
