FAQS

Can I apply to the conference funding program more than once? Yes, there is no maximum amount of times that you may apply for conference support.

Can I apply for conference funding to support several different presentations of the same research project? Yes, you may apply to support different iterations of the same presentation. Please in touch with the conference funding program administrator to discuss if it makes sense for you to submit one application or several.

What is the typical award range? Conference funding awards often fall between $500-$1000. If your expenses exceed $1000, please list all expenses in your proposal. We are able to adjust our award amounts to support larger requests, when needed.

Can I submit an application to retroactively fund conference participation expenses for a presentation that I gave last month? Unfortunately, no. Conference funding cannot be applied retroactively to cover expenses.

Does the research I present have to be conducted under a Harvard-affiliated faculty member? While we expect that you did have faculty supervision and support while conducting the research in question, it does not need to be conducted under a Harvard faculty member.

Does the conference funding program accept group applications? No, if you have been accepted to give a joint presentation, please have all students submit separate applications in which they detail their own, independent research project and specific role in preparing the presentation (among the other items requested as part of the proposal in the application instructions).
