Seven Harvard College Graduates Named 2024 Paul & Daisy Soros Fellows

Seven Harvard College graduates were awarded the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans. This prestigious award is given to only 30 invididuals each year, and supports immigrants or children of immigrants who choose to pursue a graduate degree in the United States.

The Harvard College awardees are:

  • Kristine Guillaume – Harvard graduate and current PhD student in English and African American Studies at Yale
  • Akshay Swaminathan – Harvard graduate and current MD/PhD in biomedical data science at Stanford
  • Michael Xie – Harvard graduate and current MD/PhD in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins
  • Evelyn Wong – Harvard graduate and current MD/PhD student in biophysics at Stanford
  • Sara Bobok – Harvard graduate and current JD/MA student in education at Stanford
  • Ruva Chigwedere – Harvard graduate and current MFA student at UC San Diego
  • Aayush Karan – Harvard graduate and current Harvard PhD student in quantum science and engineering at Harvard
