Summer Research Programs
Harvard offers a diverse array of summer research opportunities to undergraduates at Harvard as well as other universities. URAF does not have information about programs for high school or graduate students.
Harvard College prioritizes the wide distribution of Summer funding to ensure that as many undergraduate students as possible can have a meaningful summer experience. All students are required to abide by this policy. Be sure to review the Summer Funding Policy before accepting any award.
All College summer funding opportunities will be assigned an application round: A, B, or C. All HSURV programs participate in round B, and HCRP in round C. Please be aware that if you accept an opportunity in one round, your application will be withdrawn from opportunities in other rounds. Learn more about the Summer Funding Office timelines.

Harvard Summer Undergraduate Research Village (HSURV) Programs
The Harvard Summer Undergraduate Research Village (HSURV) is a collection of residential summer research programs for undergraduate students. Programs run from early June until mid-August, with precise dates confirmed in advance of the program. HSURV students live together on Harvard's campus and eat in the dining hall, creating a robust and exciting living, learning, and social community of undergraduate researchers.
Students conduct research and attend professional development workshops, cohort meetings, and social activities organized by their program and by URAF. At the end of the summer, students showcase their research achievements through research presentations.
Students admitted to Research Village programs receive a stipend, housing, and meals; each program may have additional support for their particular student cohorts.
Programs that comprise the Village are led by URAF and other partnering offices and academic departments at Harvard. The composition of the Village may vary from year to year. Each program has a separate application process with unique eligibility requirements. Please review your program of interest to learn more about these requirements.
